Haste does not bring success (121 words)

I've been playing guitar for about five years. One Christmas, I just really felt like I needed a guitar. I had no idea how to play, and knew I probably would never be able to learn (just like the drum set I had also got for Christmas once). I'm not a very patient person, and when I picked it up I expected it to sound great. Not only did I not know how to play, but it was also a beginners guitar. I plugged it in, and was instantly disappointed. I didn't pick it back up for a few months or so. I expected that I would have some sort of natural talent when it came to playing. Months passed and I realized that I actually want to learn how to play guitar, and take the time to practice and get it right. It took me years to get where I am today, but it took patience, and a ton of practice. It makes me happy that I can say I taught myself how to play guitar.
